Junior quarterback Terrance Owens threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns, and junior running back David Fluellen ran for a career-high 109 yards as the Toledo Rockets held on to a 34-31 victory over Wyoming Saturday.

Toledo (1-1) trailed 20-17 at halftime but rallied behind the arm and legs of Owens, who completed clutch pass after clutch pass. Owens, who went the entire game at QB, was 15-of-23 in the final 30 minutes. He also rushed for a career-high 74 yards. His fourth and final TD pass of the game to junior James Green put Toledo up, 34-23, with 7:57 to play. Junior Bernard Reedy led the Rockets with six catches for 111 yards and two TDs.

Unfortunately, this game was not televised so most Rocket fans were left catching updates through social media websites and gamecast from ESPN. Owens played the entire game and really played well. Will this mean Owens is the guy for Toledo or will Dantin still get his shot? Perhaps this coming weekend against BGSU?

Here is wishing Wyoming QB Brett Smith a speedy recovery from the injury he suffered against the Rockets.
