Coach Tim Beckman just announced that the Toledo student section will now we called “The Launch Pad”.

Recently, a contest was held where names could be suggested and a short list voted on — the winner was selected by vote from those entries. Beckman noted that “Mission Control” was a close second.

Beckman also added:

“Congratulations to Michael Rains, winner of the Rocket Section Student naming contest!”

I didn’t realize that the student section didn’t have a name until this contest. Might take a little while for this to really stick — what’s your take on the name ? Like it / hate it / meh ? Let us know in the comments.
