We’ve witnessed Eric Page’s amazing abilities through the first 9 games of the season, but tonight against CMU, he may be able to cross the 1,000 receiving yard threshold. As the leading freshman WR in the nation, Page needs just 91 yards to hit the 1K mark.
Below are Page’s stats, for comparison, I included Stephen Williams’ stats (# 2 for the Rockets in rec. yards). Incidently, Page and Williams are # 2 and # 3 in the MAC:
| Player | REC | YDS | AVG | LONG | TD |
| Eric Page | 65 | 909 | 14 | 70 | 7 |
| Stephen Williams | 60 | 884 | 14.7 | 56 | 5 |
Pretty impressive for a FR, right ? Well, at # 7 in the nation, Page’s closest freshman competition is from (# 40) Kent’s Tyshon Goode with just 48 receptions for 685 yards. After those two MAC representatives, the closest FR is (# 57) South Carolina’s Alshon Jeffery with 33 receptions for 613 yards.
When you consider that no one ranked ahead of Page in receiving yards is younger than a junior, it really puts Page’s ability into perspective. He has made a major impact on the program right from the start of his career at UT and we hope to be watching the beginning of a very illustrious career.
So when you’re watching the game tonight, keep at eye out for Page… I guarantee CMU’s defense will be.

Impressive – no matter how you slice it.
