We’re seeing conflicting reports about Opelt and the likelihood that he’ll play on Saturday. Fox Toledo is saying that he probably won’t play:

Sources close to the situation say UT quarterback Aaron Opelt is unlikely to play this Saturday against Northern Illinois due to an injury to his throwing shoulder. Publicly, the Rockets beg to differ.

Hard to tell which outlet to believe. Beckman said he’s probable, so we’re leaning that way. Never can tell though. Anyone else have any thoughts on the Opelt injury and what it means to Toledo is he doesn’t play ?

  1. “Publicly, the Rockets beg to differ.” Mind games, perhaps? I hope he’s healthy enough to play, if he isn’t, then he shouldn’t be in the game and risk losing him for the rest of the season.

  2. Huge factor in this game if Opelt does not start. Hopefully the running game can pick it up. I would look for more screen passes to Page and Williams as well. We cannot afford to lose back to back MAC games.

    Go Rockets!
