We have a couple Google Wave invites burning a hole in our pocket, and what better way to spread the Rocket gospel, than with the latest and greatest technology. Not familiar with Google Wave ? — Everything you need to know is right here.
Interested in these two invites ? All you have to do is comment on this post and tell us why you’re our biggest fan. Tell us why you love the Rockets, tell us why you deserve an invite, and tell us where you go to stay up to date on Toledo football (clears throat) …
We’ll close the competition Friday at noon – and announce the two winners shortly after that, so be sure to get your comments submitted by then. Multiple entries will be accepted as long as the content is different, so give us everything you’ve got and win a golden ticket Google Wave invite.
Good luck and Go Rockets.

Thanks so much for making this offer and thanks for this site. I work professionally in web development and a site like this is something I’ve always had on my “to do” list, but now that you’ve done it so well, I can just sit back and enjoy all the awesome content you’re presenting! The beautiful design, the regularly updated content and the passion for UT you display really makes this a fantastic site that has rocket-ed to the top of one of my ‘must check’ UT fan sites.
I also really dig that you don’t operate in a vaccuum. I see you on the Rocket Forum participating regualrly as well as in the Toledo Blade Rocket chats asking questions and supporting the team, representing the interested, passionate fan base.
Sites like yours and your participation everywhere helps build a fan base that creates a larger community — or Rocket family (as Beckman would probably say) — that supports teams through the best and worst times.
Thanks again for this opportunity, for your hard work and for your support of the team.
Bill
P.S. Wanna know how bad I’ve got the Rocket fever? I’m at a conference right now for work and should be paying attention, but i’m checking your site for Rocket updates.
*We’re the biggest Rockets fans, because AFTER we moved to Texas we STILL ran ToledoRocketFans.com for two years.
*We STILL show up to the Sports Bar in our Rockets Gear (because the ESPN has seen fit not to televise most of our games) and we gather round a tiny little laptop screen for RocketVision when the MAC decides Toledo shouldn’t be on television.
*We tweet about the Rockets during every game.
*Our family room is full of Rocket Gear (and I’m wearing a TOLEDO football shirt RIGHT NOW
*We have BLUE and GOLD floodlights on the front of our garage.
*We check for updates on LetsGoRockets.com !!!
*Even though, for some unknown reason, the university decided to hire a former BG Coach whose assistants/coordinators seems to be clueless, we STILL support the Rockets!
*And, I grew up in Huntington, went to MARSHALL, but would rather SUPPORT THE ROCKETS. (And have gotten hate mail and libelous ‘letters to the editor’ about me to prove it!)
THAT”s WHY WE’RE THE BIGGEST ROCKET FANS!
Go ROCKETS!
While I may have not grown up a Rocket ever since I stepped foot on this Unversities campus last fall I can’t help but be enraptured with the Rockets. In fact for the first month of the school year I wore Rocket gear every day. Last season maybe wasn’t the greatest of seasons but it provided great moments (Michigan game) as well as thrilling ones (Fresno State). I’m a huge history guy and the Rockets have a proud and glorious tradition. From Chuck Ealy and the winning streak to Chester Taylor shredding on the ground to Bruce Gradkowski doing it through the air, and all the greats in between, the Rockets have a lot to fall in love with. I wanted to get more involved in Rocket football and after some looking I found out about the student radio station, WXUT, and how they needed help in their sports department. One thing led to another and now I do a weekly radio show with another huge Rocket supporter and talk about our Rockets. I’ve also started keeping stats for the radio station, as well as for anyone who is interested. I also tweet about the Rockets and check out letsgodockets.com!
I’m so glad I became a Rocket and got to witness one of the greatest receivers in our history (Nick Moore), the greatest receiver (Stephen Williams) and an up and coming great (Eric Page). This doesn’t even begin to talk about Aaron Opelt and Dajuan Collins and Morgan Williams and Barry Church and the list goes on. The history is all around us and that’s why I love being a Rocket!
