2010 BlogPoll: Week 2

Our week 2 submission to the SBNation BlogPoll:

Feel free to comment and let us know what you think – we’re open to suggestions and can discuss any pick we made. Keep in mind that this early in the season, we only have one game (and most of these teams played soft opponents in the first game) to base this on so there isn’t much grounds one way or the other yet. Let us know what you think.

After Friday night’s showing, we’re easing back into posting. There isn’t a whole lot to say about what happened other than we need to keep it from happening again. The best way to accomplish that is to learn from the mistakes and keep moving forward. In that spirit, we look forward to this week’s matchup with Ohio. From UTRockets.com:

Head coach Frank Solich returns 13 starters from a team that went 9-5, 7-1 in MAC play a year ago, tying for the MAC East Division title with Temple. The Bobcats were 33-10 winners over FCS division Wofford in Athens on Saturday. The game was close for most of the contest, with OU holding just a 17-10 late in the third quarter. But the Bobcats broke it open with a 16-yard TD run from Ryan Boykin with 3:36 to play and sealed the win with another score with just 53 seconds left. Ohio’s defense held Wofford’s triple option offense to just 220 yards, all of it on the ground. The Bobcats also forced three fumbles and recovered all three.

I was not able to sleep in today as I had expected; I was literally too excited to sleep. I took the dog out first thing and was met by cool fall air. It was a temperature to football fans that lets us know that college football is here.

By today, September 3rd, you are undoubtedly just as excited as we are at LGR. We have all been waiting to see this Rocket football team improve since the season finale loss to BGSUcks. Soon after, Coach Beckman and his staff hit the road recruiting. Something everyone knew needed to be done. What we didn’t expect was that he would end up bringing the most talented recruiting class in the MAC to Toledo. Some have speculated it is the most talented class in Toledo Rocket history. Tonight, we make our first judgments.
